What are Rail Track Pads?
Rail pads, originally called “sole” plates or pads, are used as the interface between the rail and the sleeper when rail is attached to concrete, rather than timber, ties or sleepers. Their function is to reduce fatigue cracking of the concrete, which is driven by impact and vibration from the passing train.
Benefits of Plastic Bushes & Bearings vs Other Bearings
- Cost Effective – Polsytone 300 is a low cost material that can be cost effectively machined on CNC Routers into finished parts, as well as injection moulded where the production volumes are higher,
- UV and Weather Resistant – Polystone 300 is UV stabilized providing long service life when exposed to the elements.
- Reduced wear – Polystone 300 provides good wear and abrasion resistance to protect the concrete sleeper.
